I took my 8-year-old daughter to Bay Dental on July 15 for a routine cleaning, where they found three cavities and referred us to South Coast Pediatrics across the hall for treatment. I called immediately and was able to get an appointment the very next day, July 16. When we arrived, they told me they needed to take a new set of X-rays because the ones from Bay Dental weren’t up to their standards. This was despite the referral clearly indicating which three teeth needed treatment. The first thing the dental assistant told me after walking into the room was, “Be ready to pay about $600 out of pocket.” Naturally, I was confused. She explained that their office routinely uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to sedate children during fillings. I explained that my daughter had previously had two cavities filled using only local numbing and did very well. I was then told that their dentist does not numb the area and instead uses nitrous oxide. The total estimate came to $754.40 out of pocket. To make things even more confusing, they then told me they would only fill two of the three cavities and simply monitor the third one. If I’m already expected to pay nearly $800, why wouldn’t all t

Tania provided amazing customer service for my 6-year-old granddaughter Mia. She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, making my granddaughter feel comfortable and special throughout the entire experience. Tania went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled with care and a smile. It's rare to find someone who genuinely connects with children while maintaining such professionalism. From the front office to the back, the entire team made our experience a great one. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially with my two girls (ages 5 and almost 2). My youngest was very scared at first, but she ended up doing much better than I expected thanks to how patient and kind they were. The staff was quick, professional, and made the whole visit smooth and stress-free. They even had movies playing, which helped keep the kids comfortable and distracted. The dentist was especially wonderful so kind, fun, and upbeat. I highly recommend this children’s dentist!

We couldn’t be happier with South Coast Pediatric Dentistry. We make the drive to see them & our kids love going to them as well! From the moment we walk in, the staff goes above and beyond to make my kids feel comfortable. What really sets them apart is their genuine care for each child.They remember my kids by name and create such a positive atmosphere that my children actually look forward to their appointments. The office is bright, welcoming, and filled with fun distractions that keep the kids entertained. The team truly understands children and knows how to make dental care a positive experience rather than something to dread. We feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful practice that treats our kids like family. Highly recommend to any parent looking for outstanding pediatric dental care.

I’ve been bringing my son here for almost 3 years and he loves it, Tania the front desk is very kind, the assistants Leslie and Nat were very patient and careful when doing his cleaning and x rays. Highly recommend!!
